Drug use is prevalent in today’s society. Whether they be prescription, over the counter, or illicit everyone has tried drugs of some form. By definition, a drug is any substance that when absorbed into the body of a living organism, alters normal bodily function. Historically, humans have always used a variety of substances to alter mental and physical states. Indigenous South American tribes used raw coca leaves for energy, in the middle ages Middle Eastern tribes used hashish. The modern term “assassin” derives from “hashishin”, users of hashish, and the original assassins from 1092 AD. In the past, drugs could be considered more “natural.” A plant with pain killing properties may be only 5% pain killer, 95% plant matter. Because of this a large amount of plant would need to be consumed to induce pain killing properties. With our mastery of chemistry, we have found a way to circumvent around this. We are now able to isolate elements and substances from a plant, remove it, and discard the plant matter. This allows the creation of more effective, potent, easily accessible drugs. However, as with many things in this world, there exists a hidden agenda. There is the opportunity for a large profit within the pharmaceutical industry, and companies know this. New drugs are being developed daily, and hailed as the new “cure.” Meanwhile, preventative methods receive very little research and development, and illegal recreational drugs are vilified because they lead to alternative perceptions of reality, not because of health risks. People “at the top” do not care about the average human’s quality of life. This is clear by looking at the level of poverty and exploitation in the world today. If the mainstream media says something, it is usually wise to do and believe the opposite. There is much more to be gained from illicit drugs than pharmaceuticals. “Cures” should be viewed as a trump card, and only be used when all else fails. Try smoking a joint, instead of a Tylenol next time.;)

“By any means necessary.” We are all criminals on some level, and “crime” is necessary to perpetuate our current social matrix. Whether you illegally download music, go over the speed limit, or murder a man there is one term to define you: criminal. These are political tricks to create guilt when individuals choose freedom and take power over their lives. Good and bad do not exist, they are idols we have created to guide our actions. External parties have perverted these values for their own gain. Morals are obsolete time moves too fast, events change too rapidly to have a solid set of morals. Good is what feels right, bad is what feels wrong. Killing is “wrong” and murder is a “crime” however, anyone would kill a man attempting to harm their family. Don’t fool yourself, law and government is not needed, we have the potential to be self governing. Intelligence and self understanding are key, follow your heart, not the law.

Ambition is hunger of the soul. People often confuse ambition with greed, or obsession. Many people’s ambitions become clouded because of their ego. What one strives for internally will never be satisfied by external rewards. You may view yourself as ambitious if you strive to be above the status quo in a financial, or social hierarchical sense, and this is true to some extent, however it may be greed or selfishness. If one’s natural talents are for example, that of business, or science in this society an above average income and status can be expected. Maybe your talents are different, maybe you see beauty in things others don’t, or relate to people on a level others don’t reach. Are you willing to exploit these talents for financial gain? Everyone needs to survive, but striving to develop your talents into real skills, without regard for profit is the mark of true ambition.
